From the Heart of the Hills
Local Pahadi was born out of a simple belief: that the best way to experience Uttarakhand is through the eyes of the people who call it home. We are a team of mountain-born guides, cooks, storytellers, and travellers who grew up in the villages of Kumaon and Garhwal.
We started because we were tired of watching our mountains be reduced to a checklist of tourist spots. Uttarakhand is not just Kedarnath and Nainital. It is the smell of wood smoke at dawn. It is a grandmother pressing mandua rotis by firelight. It is the sound of a river you can hear from your bed.
Every experience we offer is designed to slow you down, connect you with local families, and leave you with something that no photograph can capture — a feeling of having truly belonged, even for a few days, to these mountains.

Born in Almora, Deepak has been guiding treks and cultural tours in Uttarakhand for 15 years. He speaks three languages and knows every trail in Kumaon.

Cuisine & Homestay Lead
Pauri, Garhwal
Sunita grew up cooking Pahadi food in her family's kitchen. She now runs our network of homestays and ensures every guest eats like a local.

A certified mountaineer and river guide, Vikram has summited peaks across the Garhwal Himalayas and led over 200 trekking expeditions.
